In 2016, the Americas area embarked on Project Panama in which representatives from the Americas Lufthansa Group Organization came together to build a home for a family. This was the kick off to an overall area commitment to work together to ensure Lufthansa’s social responsibility in North & South America. In the 2 years since each individual company followed their commitment by supporting “doing good” in their organization.

For a more collaborative and unified approach, a project team was assembled in Sep. 2017 representing all North American LH Group Companies with the objective of implementing a North American corporate citizenship approach. To ensure sustainability and an overall company representation of corporate responsibility we teamed up with “help alliance as help alliance americas and became the first official sub-organization of help alliance worldwide. “The help alliance is the aid organization of the Lufthansa Group and their employees, and forms the central pillar of the Group’s activities in the area of social responsibility." With a shared platform, help alliance americas offers the opportunity for employees to volunteer in “doing good” projects in their local communities as well as the possibility to participate in projects where other LH Group companies are located.

To facilitate active participation by all, help alliance americas will be employee driven with employee nominated projects. The aim of the projects will be to help people in our local communities and will not solely be based on the collection of money.
